Mama-to-be voiceover

How ironic! I’m 18 weeks pregnant (which is the most amazing news ever, I hasten to add) and voiced this for Tens Care recently. My character is concerned about the pain of labour (!). I haven’t thought that far ahead yet but maybe a Perfect Mama Tens may come in handy.

Upbeat Voiceover Girl

Wow, it’s been a great few months in my voiceover world. Ever since I updated my kit and bought a sexy new interface, I’ve had a new air of confidence and vigour. I’ve also been developing my vocal range and working on the business side of things with Guy Michaels from Voiceover Kickstart. I signed up for his 6 week free voiceover course, which has really motivated me to up my game. I highly recommend signing up for the course to anyone wanting to further their voiceover career. So, over the next few months, I’ll have a new website, new demos and hopefully a few new clients to work with. Here are some snippets of a handful of projects I’ve been working on this year so far.

Feel free to contact me to discuss your voiceover needs for;

Voiceover for British Tinnitus Association

I worked with the British Tinnitus Association on this fabulous video. They offer support for those who suffer from Tinnitus (persistent ringing or buzzing in the ears). It can be a debilitating condition. As a voiceover artist, I rely on my ears so much whilst I record and edit audio. I take it for granted that I can listen, without interruption from other noises. However, I am conscious of protecting myself and will always wear ear plugs when I go to a gig. I must be growing up!

Presenter led product videos

“When you’re climbing a mountain, sometimes it’s good to look back at how far you’ve come”. A quote from my very good friend (who obvs nicked it from someone very famous).

As I sat thinking of what I’d like to achieve this year, I was inclined to look through some of the work I’ve already done. I remember these shoots very well. The feature for SMEG was filmed on one of the hottest days of the year. We filmed it in a showroom where ALL of the fires had to be kept on for prospective customers. OMG, I was so hot. Thank the Lord for Mac Studio Fix Pressed Powder. On the flip side, the feature for Premier Range (bottom) was filmed in a Lancashire showroom in the middle of winter. There was zero heating. It may look cosy and warm but it was freezing cold. I was probably wearing Ugg Boots. I remember loving the part where I had to switch on the hob as I got a lovely blast of hot air.

All part of being a presenter. It ain’t all glam, but there definitely are worse ways to make a living.

Ford Fiesta Shoot

When it comes to cars, I’m a VW girl at heart. However the new Ford Fiesta is pretty impressive. I got up close and personal with the latest model doing this shoot for SMC cars in Kent. The video is for their social media and will potentially play on the ITV hub soon too. It was a great gig to do…short and sweet and I got given a car! OK, maybe the last part isn’t true but I can dream.

Blinds 2 Go Voiceover

7 down…72 to go!  I have been doing voiceover for Staffordshire based production company Amp Studio on a large series of product videos for their client blinds2go. There are about 80 of these effective, concise and brilliantly produced videos to come, which give consumers all the information they need about each product on offer. It’s a lovely job. Amp Studio asked for an upbeat and friendly style…just means remembering to smile when I talk!

Getting beautified

Beauty 4 Less“. I said that phrase a fair few times across an intense but super productive video shoot with Ben Jacobson. We filmed around 50 products over 2 days. The videos have populated the website superbly and gives Beauty 4 Less even more exposure. Web video also means consumers have even more information on the item of interest and can see it in working order. Beauty 4 Less is now a market leader in the UK for online beauty products, demonstrated by their growth over the past two years. This became evident to me when we got to the shoot as their warehouse had tripled in size.

See all videos here.

In other news, I passed my MSc in Nutrition and Health with a distinction. Going back to uni to study science was a completely life enhancing (and challenging) experience. Check out Make It Healthy for a dose healthy eating inspiration and the feature (and recipe) in this months Cheshire Life magazine about my journey into the world of nutritional science…

Get 100% more than last year

  Hey there! Here’s another example of how web video can positively impact the appeal of a website. Apparently Harrison & Rowley are up 100% on enquiries vs last year. Is this down to me recently being on their home page?!

I could be forgiven for thinking so (!) but I’m more sure of the reason below;

Whenever I work with new clients on their web video, the pattern I notice is that most of them are proud of their company and confident in what message they want to get across.

Britannia Removals are no exception. They are a well organised business with lovely staff. That’s the real reason their interest is increasing.

…in addition to this, I also make sure I work with a professional team and camera crew who have the skills and equipment to produce something pleasing to watch.

A winning combination which ensures that what the customer sees, the customer gets.

Don’t settle for less! Get in touch with me.

O’Briens photo video

O’Briens is a big client…and we made them a photo video which they seemed to like very much!

“Thanks Hannah -the montage and voiceover work is superb!! Many thanks – we’ll definitely do this again” Raj Tugnet, Proprietor – O’Briens
